What is the point of spending hours removing cheaters if our ratings just drop more? Honestly, I'd rather they remain there, instead of wasting time updating ratings for lower points in the end.

I don't understand how ratings work exactly, but likely, if there are cheaters below you in the standings, you will have a smaller new rating :)
It occurred to me, that's sad to be honest.
Not everyone lost rating due to removing cheaters, some people gained more rating. It is very unfortunate that this happened, but it makes the ratings more fair. I know it feels unfair, but there's nothing you can do about it. You need to remember that rating doesn't mean everything. Just practice more amd attend more contests and your rating will come back up.
