Our coach agrees that we should train on specific computers, like other schools did, instead of our own laptops. I think he is right, because even myself often play video games after and during class, which caused many serious problems.
So just one or two weeks ago, he brought us some desktop computers. It shocked us when we see the computer case — it's hard to believe that our players used these kind of things during the Provincial Team Selection last year.
It is not bad, but it is not really good, almost just fine for a contest. Usually it works well with some tabs and a Visual Studio Code, but not anymore. I managed to open CodeForces and Luogu the same time and it began to lag, then, I felt like I couldn't type anymore because it wasn't responding to my keyboard for a long time.
I had already asked our coach whether we could move to the public computer room and use the cloud desktop computers (like a net-bar) there which is much better than this, well, this suggestion has been rejected because other students who don't do cp need the room for so-called IT class so we can't train there.
Then, with the hard-working spirit that has been passed down for generations, we (at least I) started the new training method using this old old computer.

My computer runs smoothly enough.
It couldn't support more than a CodeForces Round.
It takes more than 30 seconds to compile a Hello World (just like mine).
My poor computer had 3 great lag when I was writing this post. I couldn't even kill Chrome because terminal itself wasn't responding.

recently installed ubuntu on a 14 year old macbook air that couldn't even boot and it's blazing fast now
We have a system called "(China) NOI Linux", which is just an ubuntu with several more software and new desktop backgrounds.
Sadly I am already using NOI Linux when posting and it still runs like a shit.
My personal computer compiles 4x faster than that in our computer room.
I'm homeschooled and I use my one main laptop for everything really, codeforces, learning more c++, other school work, browsing CF forums, wasting time on you tube. I guess using one devise for everything does lead to more problems with getting distracted with random stuffs but I mainly find it to be quite okay. I feel that I am ok at managing my time and don't really want to have to manage (and carry around) separate devices with different logins and accounts and everthing.
