Hi everyone,

Over the past few months, I’ve been working on something I personally felt was missing in competitive programming: A duelling experience based on the Codeforces Blitz Cup matches format. No waiting for contests, just challenge someone and compete in code.

Today, I bring to you CodeBlitz — an arena for real-time head-to-head competitive coding battles.

What is CodeBlitz?

CodeBlitz is a real-time competitive coding arena where you can:

  • Challenge friends or rivals instantly
  • Play short, high-intensity matches within flexible rating ranges
  • Solve Codeforces problems under pressure
  • Compete through a dedicated rating system

How a Match Works?

  1. Create a room (rated or unrated)
  2. Share a 6-digit join code or send invite to a friend
  3. Both players hit Ready
  4. Match starts with a synchronized timer
  5. Problems unlock sequentially
  6. Live standings update as you solve

Key Features

Smart Problem Selection

  • Unseen problems based on your Codeforces history
  • Controlled difficulty range

Real-Time Match Experience

  • Live solve updates
  • Synchronized countdown
  • Immediate feedback

Blitz Rating System

  • Separate ELO-style rating
  • Updates after every rated match
  • Tracks progression over time

Match History & Tracking

  • View past matches
  • Track rating changes

Why CodeBlitz?

Most practice is solo, passive and low pressure. CodeBlitz makes it competitive, immediate and engaging.

It’s closer to an actual match experience than traditional practice.

Try It Out Here

Huge thanks to my friends and juniors who played countless matches helping me test the platform.

If you enjoy competitive programming and fast-paced challenges, you might find this fun. Would really appreciate if you give it a try and share your thoughts!

What I really liked about CodeBlitz is that it brings out a side of competitive programming that most of us don’t get to experience often the fast, head to head duels that usually feel limited to higher-rated players. It’s honestly a very different feeling from normal practice. The real-time pressure, solving alongside someone, and seeing live updates makes it much more engaging than just solving problems alone. Got to be part of the beta testing, and it was genuinely fun to see this evolve and actually play on it. Huge respect to you Sir for building something that makes practice not just useful but genuinely enjoyable.

Tried this out with my friend and honestly, we had a great time! It’s a really helpful and amazing platform to compete with friends, felt super engaging and actually fun while solving problems. Loved the concept!

I think the verification is broken, it keeps saying "Not verified yet. Submit a Compilation Error and retry." even though I submitted a compilation error for this problem.
