MikeMirzayanov's blog

Hello to everyone.

The latest news - now you are able to see the source code of the solution. During the contest you can view your own solutions only, but when the contest is finished you can view the solutions of any other participant. The table with the solutions is available via the problemset page, the solutions there are sorted by the program length. Pay attention, please, that you are free to change the sorting criteria using the option at the bottom of the table.
There is another principle that gives you the chance to view the source codes of solved (during the contest or practice) solutions only. Personally, I regard the principle "everyone sees everything" as more suitable for our regular contests.  Am I right?

When you run a contest within your private community, you'll be able to set up your own principle for viewing solutions (or to switch off this function at all). But this functionality is under construction now.

Wish you high rating,
MikeMirzayanov

UPD. Standings page is improved. You may double-click into a table cell (or use Ctrl+click) to view the submissions history.

Shouldn't there also be a reverse sorting option (e.g. sorting by earliest time arrived)

When I stop my pointer on a submission on standing page, the language of that submission is shown. Can you do the same thing on rating page: the rank of that coder in that competition is shown. Thanks!!!

Try double-clicking on cell in tables with results.
For example, go to results of any contest and find ans person solved problem X you like. Double-click on cell of X colomn near contestant name.

You can find all solutions of particular problem in final standings page of contest which contains this problem. On the top of page are solutions which were submitted in contest time, and below are solutions which were submitted in practice mode.

If you lock a particular problem after you've passed the pretest during a contest, you'll be able to view the source code of others who passed the pretests for that problem.

I can't see the submitted code of competitions like "2014-2015 ACM-ICPC East Central North America Regional Contest" and such past group contests. I can only see the past history of submissions when I double click the table cells. Are there some restrictions on this ?

You can't watch submissions on problem in gym contests until you solve it.

Sorry I'm new. For Educational Codeforces Round 67 (Rated for Div. 2), I was just wondering if they posted the solutions to the problems because I can't find it. If they haven't, do you know if they will or how long it will take?

OMG, I hate necroposting so much.

"The latest news — now you are able to see the source code of the solution."
So many question marks above my head when reading this.

Indeed, I haven't lately been able to see any of the other users' submissions. Everything I see is "N/A" for source code, even for problems I have solved. Any solution to this very annoying issue? Thanks!

For people not able to see other's solution, be patient it is a normal process and you will soon be able to see solutions.

Please explain further. I'm personally not talking about ongoing contests or contests that necessarly happened very very recently. There are also sources that I used to be able to see and am no more. Seems like something is off.

Exactly. I had the same problem too, tried different network as well as cellphone wireless from different provider in the U.S., none of them works. It started since more than a week ago. Friends in China or Canada reported not affected. It seems like some settings have been changed to no longer compatible to certain network.

This is surely a good way to improve our programming skills. I support it at first. But I think founding a independent page and ask the users whether they want to join in the Code Disclosure Plan or not is also important. I advise that the manager should set up a standard of the code which can be shown to all the users.

If your network connection is slow then it happens.

Did you see the "N/A" with a slow connection (i.e. you saw that exact message and it's not just that the submission window didn't open)?

I throttled my network connection speed to simulate GPRS and it still doesn't happen. Then I logged in as an unrated alt account and it happened immediately, with a fast connection. And indeed, even the response from https://mirror.codeforces.com/data/submitSource contains "N/A" in the source field.

I think that seeing "N/A" has nothing to do with your network connection. Instead, Codeforces simply doesn't show source code to unrated accounts. This is further corroborated by the fact that everyone who has complained in this thread is unrated (or was unrated at the time of complaining).

And this is probably not a bug at all: source code viewing has probably been intentionally disabled for unrated accounts to reduce scraping.

Interesting, maybe it is something like 3 rated contests then. Or maybe there is a cap on the number of viewable submissions (if you say it happens "most of the time" and not always).

Lately codeforces servers are so slow handling "showing other people's submissions" I believe they should check what's up with the databases or the APIs anyway most likely there is something wrong with the backend !
