Hello,
I just gave my first contest and as you guys can see it did not go as well as I thought. With the first hurdle aside, I now know where I stand (rating : 359). I am planning to be a human experiment and will try to push myself to the extreme and see how far a non-cs, non-math and old guy can go by sheer hard work, I wanted to record my journey with these blogs. I hope these blogs will help me stay accountable.
I am planning to grind through about 40-50 questions in each elo bracket before moving to the next one. Also to supplement my lack to mathematical prowess I will start by solving problems from Rosen's Discrete Mathematics and read more on competitive programming.
I am also planning to create a spreadsheet where I record my thinking in each contest I give so I can analyze if I am making any rookie errors while thinking about the solution.
Right now I do not want to set any fixed goals as I do not know my potential. The goal for the first month is only improve as much as I can. I'll update my blogs every month on the 12th.
I only hope that at the end I can look back and be proud of myself.
love, Kripa
