I can't get the proof of the given observation for problem E in the tutorial. Can anyone please explain it?

f0 = 2, f1 = 2. Depending on the observation the score should be 4. But I can't get more than 3, doesn't matter how I perform the partition.

It is possible that I compiled the problem wrong. Hoping your help.
