Eid Mubarak, Fellow Coders!
As the crescent moon shines bright, marking the end of Ramadan, I want to take a moment to wish everyone in the Codeforces community a very Happy Eid! May this joyous occasion bring you peace, happiness, and countless successful submissions with no TLEs or MLEs!
Competitive programming, much like Ramadan, teaches us patience, perseverance, and discipline. We spend hours debugging, optimizing, and learning from our mistakes—just as we do in life.
On this special day, I also want to extend a warm welcome to all newcomers and fellow Python users! Python is a beautiful language, but let’s be honest—it’s not always the fastest when it comes to competitive programming. So, as we celebrate Eid, let's also share knowledge and help each other grow.
If you have any tips to avoid TLE (Time Limit Exceeded) and MLE (Memory Limit Exceeded) while using Python in contests, I’d love to hear them! Some techniques I try to use include:
Using sys.stdin.read for fast input handling.
Avoiding deep recursion and using iterative approaches when possible.
Opting for collections.deque instead of lists for faster queue operations.
Using NumPy or PyPy where applicable for performance boosts.
Precomputing results and using efficient data structures like sets and heaps.
What other tricks do you use to optimize Python solutions in contests? Let’s discuss and learn from each other!
Once again, Eid Mubarak to you all! May your rating graph always trend upwards and your solutions get accepted in one go!
Happy Coding!
