So I can have a personal user blog in here without bothering anyone or contaminating the main forum? That sounds awesome! I can put explanations of my solutions to some problems in here while also getting a bit personal here and there. Of course the fact that I can do this on the same website I'm doing the problems makes it even more awesome and increases the motivation to write these. I'm not too smart so I often like to explain my own solutions and stuff. I say that first thing because I bet the people that are really good at this CP thing spends close to no time writing proper explanations for their solutions and more time actually doing problems.
Yeah actually I'm pretty sure this is completely invisible unless you go to my profile, that's awesome. There isn't some global public list of blog posts or something like that. I might start writing things in this blog from now on and I'm planning for it to mostly be (hopefully concrete and close-to-formal) explanations of my solutions to some problems, and possibly other things about competitive programming, so it's not going to be some really irrelevant personal blogging. Despite that, of course I'm not confident enough in my own explanation and general writing abilities to be able to say that anything in this blog is going to be worth reading to the average person, especially considering that I'm still gray, but that's not the intention anyway. Other than often having the personal desire to write explanations (which this feature gives a really nice place for as I've said) this can also help me practice my, well, explaining and general English writing abilities and stuff.
Hopefully I can commit to doing this to enough of an extent (i.e. write a good enough amount of posts per-week let's say) for me to be content with it myself.
Also it seems like there is a page from which you can globally see new blog posts from anyone. It even lets you see all new comments. It's the recent actions page https://mirror.codeforces.com/recent-actions. Well, whatever. It's just that this useless blog page would be embarrassing to see on a public listing, and I see that even the OG reds have very little blog posts making me think that you really shouldn't put blog posts too often even though in my mind it's not hard to imagine that there are a lot of people that might have a hobby of writing random things in a blog so I would expect there to at least be some OG people with, say, a thousand blog posts or something. It's not like I've put in actual effort to find a user like that but the fact that even the reds have at most 100 posts I've seen on Errichto's and some only has less than 20 with all of them being proper announcement posts and the like (e.g. editorials)...
I suppose if this is put on a listing that a good amount of people check often, this post can serve as a question of whether or not it's appropriate to use this blogging feature in the way I've been suggesting I was going to use it, which is to, well, use it as for some kind of casual but not irrelevant (to CP of course) personal blogging. Say even to put personal notes of CP concepts that are possibly very beginner level and thus would only unnecessarily flood a public listing of blogs. Also if these blog posts are even put in a public listing that a lot of people may check often, because I've been seeing people ask questions as blog posts, but if blog posts aren't in a public listing then how are people finding them unless they put comments on existing globally-announced posts directing people to their blog posts while putting the comment as a question or something?
idk man this has gotten a bit long I'll end it here.
