Final Results

Marathon 24 Qualification

Below is a preliminary list of Marathon 24 Finalists. The rules don't make it clear if 20 or 30 teams qualify. Almost certainly few teams may not come to the final. Standings will be updated accordingly when official finalists are announced.

The list of teams qualified for finals will be announced on the Contest website on the day when final qualifying round results will be published. They will form 20 to 30 teams with highest score in qualifying round that will be invited to participate in finals.

It's the first time we're competing in the final of Deadline 24. We're very excited and videos from past contests look like a lot of fun.

What advise would you give to fresh-mans? I would be pleased to hear from teams who already have some experience in this contest as well.

  • What pre-written code would you advise to have?
  • What tools did you use to visualise games (if any)? Did you run visualisations in parallel?
  • Was there a visualisation provided on a shared monitor where you could see the games in action?
  • Approximately how many rounds for each game were there during the contest?
  • After how much time since the start of the contest would teams have a minimal working solution?
  • What hardware did you bring with you and found useful (router/switch, extra monitors, etc)?
  • What additional material (language specs, books, language tools/libraries), if any, did you find useful?
  • What programming language(s) and tools did use to code problems, and why?
  • Did you use any machine learning, or it was too tight on time?
  • How did you handle TCP requests/responses (i.e. a wrapper to pass data to stdin/stdout, a library, etc)?
  • How big was the gap between the first/middle/last team?
  • How many teams approximately would submit a working solution? How does this metric change during the course of the contest?
  • Are problems from 2014 final available anywhere?

It may be quite useful to have the list of problems that were solved by a particular user. For example we are developing a private website for university students which would accumulate the results from multiple judges and create virtual contests using problems from more than 1 judge. In order to display a meaningful ranking we require a list of problems solved by each user.

While it is definitely possible to do that in CodeForces it will be very tedious and not efficient as it would require parsing users for each problem! Do you know of any better way to get the list of problems solved by  each user? Do you think that would make sense to add it to the website as it indirectly already exists?

Dear CodeForces members,

We are pleased to announce the Huge Easy Contest II on Uva Online Judge. It will take place on 9th of April 8 AM GMT time so do your best to save the date! Duration of the contest is 10 hours. The problem set is unique and considering previous version of the contest we have doubled the effort and it will now comprise a set of 26th problems A to Z (obviously we ran out of English alphabet letters) most of which are quite easy but some of them will be found quite challenging for Div 1 members as well!

Hope you will enjoy and definitely have fun and we are waiting to see you solving all 26 problems!

Huge Easy Contest one took place on 11 of November 2007 and comprised a set of 13 problems. The winner of the contest was TopCoder member LayCurse.

Problemsetters are mostly myself Leonid (Leonid Sislo) and Lomir (Aleksej Viktorchik)
