So unrated participation was implemented to Codeforces a while back and we already had several edu rounds with this feature. But why is this not implemented into other (normal) rounds? Is it going to be, or will it forever be limited to edu rounds? (I believe it is also available in Div. 3 and Div. 4, but this not the point of this blog anymore)

I just find the "I read problem A and then decided whatever to participate or not" system really stupid. Although I don't have much experience with Div 1, I believe this system specifically effects Div 1 a lot and the "choose to register rated or unrated" system would make the rounds much more fair.

One might find these points obvious, but I haven't seen anyone talk about them so I thought I'd write a blog about it. I would also like to note that this blog has nothing to do with today's edu round. I just felt like writing about it now.

Update: from Mindeveloped's comment, it seems that one can register as rated (in a round which the unrated option is available), not submit anything, and his/her rating wouldn't get updated. This seems very odd to me. Why doesn't Codeforces manage these options like atcoder?

Ever since people have started using AI in contests, there is always a lot and lot of blogs after each contest reporting cheaters and talking about them. It’s obvious that some form of action against cheaters is always required, but reading through the blogs and seeing so many of them just reporting is just really frustrating.

I think since this has become one of the biggest points of discussion, it requires its own separate section in codeforces where people can report and write about these cheaters. Not only will this let more useful blogs be shown more but I think it will make taking action about these people much easier since there are all in one place now (I’m not sure how codeforces handles AI cheaters but I’m pretty sure this could help).

I mean like anything that includes rating/rank and cheating nowadays does this. Basically any online game or chess.com for example. So I can't see why codeforces doesn't also do this.

(it might also be true that I saw 3 blogs about cheaters at 2 a.m and that made me really mad for some reason and what I'm saying is completely useless)

Congrats to jiangly for becoming the top rated person on codeforces!

I wonder, what will his rank be called if he goes above 4000 like tourist did a while ago?
