codeforc.es is not working today! Do you have the same problem? (I'm writing this from codeforces.com)
Now it's a long queue and no submissions running for more than 1 hour >_<
I believe that's the case only for Ukrainian users. Looks like there was some maintenance where part of the services were moved to the servers which are blocked by Ukrainian internet providers (that already happened in the past).
I see. But why is codeforc.es working then? Doesn't that site access the same services that codeforces.com does?
Because it's not hosted on Russian servers blocked by Ukrainian internet providers :)
I guess it does. But even if so — CF servers are not blocked for codeforc.es server as it's not in Ukraine. Keep in mind, your request goes to codeforc.es (which is not blocked for you) and request from codeforc.es goes to codeforces.com (which is not blocked for codeforc.es) and that's why it works when the direct request from you to codeforces.com — doesn't. In other words, codeforc.es is a proxy between you and codeforces.com and there are not much difference between that and using VPN (which is a common way to bypass similar restrictions).
Had same issues yesterday and today when used saved link, which was www.codeforces.com. Without www. it seems to work.
