Remebering my beginner days, I used to have a very hard time even solving 800s. I propose that div 4 starts with problems with ratings like 500 or even 400, so that even beginners have a chance of solving codeforce problems. Not only would this get more people into cp, it would also grow the codeforce community.

the first and second problem on a dive 4 usually are so easy that even if the rate is 800 they can be solved almost by anyone and realistically anyone with some basic understanding of coding can solve them and for the most part people do not stay in that level for to long so i personally think the current 800 problems are actually good .

Problem ratings are automatically calculated using some formula, so it's not like problems are intentionally chosen which will be exactly 800 in rating. My guess is that problems with rating below 800 are rounded up to 800. In fact, iirc there used to be problems with rating 500, but after a problem rating recalculation, 800 was the new lower bound.

There are problems way easier than usual 800, it's just the lower limit of rating that a problem can get. You can check more accurate ratings here https://clist.by/problems/

if 800 is too difficult for you , cp isn't for you
