Before, I used to spend hours a day thinking about a single problem before giving up, but now I've decided to improve efficiency by limiting myself to 30-40 minutes per problem. Is this too short? How long do you guys spend on problems before giving up-if you give up at all?

If the problem is interesting for me if feel it is under my solvable range ,I put this problem to my favourite, and keep thinking on it everyday for short until I solve it completely!!

If problem is under my solvable range and seems like i m missing small details or observations or i feel i have tried everything,i see editorial next day!!

If problem is too heavy for my rating,1-2 hour is enough!

If the method is new to you try 20-30 min and later look at the solution. After 5-10 such problems try to solve the problem no matter what but make sure you do not waste too much time. i.e. try to solve it some other time.
