Since what age have you been competitive programming and what's your age right now? Did you start with any sort of mathematical background and do you believe its necessary to succeed? What are your plans for the future?

    Almost 3 years ago; I am 17 now.

    Mathematical background is very important for success.

why did you give up on the challenge of becoming GM, much before the deadline was over?
