Hello Codeforces!

On Saturday Feb 24 at 12:00 PM EST we will host a Combinatorics MathDash Contest co-hosted by the Carnegie Mellon Informatics and Mathematics Competition! — Register here

On Tuesday Feb 27 at 7:00 PM EST we will host the seventh MathDash Contest!Register here

Brought to you by the creators of Breez Math Training, we have extensive experience teaching competition math (participants of the USA Math Olympiad Program) as well as participating in competitive programming competitions, and want to share our love for math with you all!

The math in competition will be similar to middle/high school math competitions, which can be quite difficult!

We will host the contest on our new platform MathDash and have a separate rating system. The contest will be rated.

Who is this for?

Our target audience is a beginner or novice math competition participant or competitive programmer who wishes to improve in their mathematical problem-solving ability. We welcome everyone though! All we ask is that you have a love for math and a love for improving :)

How do I register

Please register on the website so that we can prepare and ensure we can handle the load on our platform for this competition!

We'd love to hear from you!

Please let us know in the comments below what you'd be looking for out of a math contest platform!

Which website is this contest on ?

I love Mathematics and am very interested in participating in a Mathematics themed contest. I am also excited at the prospect of a new platform ! But please mention the website.

Hey all! Updated with details on the competition platform and style. We got a lot of feedback from you on the form that we should do a pure math contest — and also, need a little more time for platform development — so we are changing gears a little bit, including changing the time.

Feel free to join us on the Math platform on Monday (linked above)! Realize it is at a difficult time for Moscow/IST, but if there is enough interest, would be happy to run different times in the future!

Tara is trying to learn how to multiply two-digit numbers. She decides to perform every single possible two-digit multiplication. She starts by calculating 10 x 10, and then 10 x 11, and goes all the way until she gets to 99 x 99, for a total of 8100 calculations. For how many of these calculations does she get an answer that is an even number?

My soln : number of odds from 1 — 100 is 50

100 is three digit so we remove this now we get 50 — 1 = 49

1- 9 number of odds = 4 ... subtraction 4 from 49 we get 45

so result = 45*45 = 2025 but why its wrong????

Can someone please tell me the correct answer??

Hi! This is the number of calculations that result in an 'odd' number — but the question asks for number of calculations that result in an 'even' number!

Hey all — would love to hear feedback from anyone who was able to take a look and/or participate — how can I help make this a thing that would help everyone do more math and improve!

It is pretty easy, isn't it? Or did I enter the wrong division
