Last August, I signed up for the 300iq online course, hoping to improve my competitive programming skills. The course seemed promising at first, there was a group of ±20 people with from 1800 to 2400 ratings, but after completing two contests, Ildar (or someone who has access to his account) stopped responding to messages.
Many of us felt abandoned and frustrated by the lack of support. What's more, 300iq asked $100 in cryptocurrency to enroll in this course, adding to the disappointment of the experience. We've been waiting almost for a year for his response, but he still ignores us. As I know he still sells his course, so be aware of codeforces' biggest scammer!

Thou hast shattered the streak, disrupting the continuum. Thy transgression shall not find solace in forgiveness.

I'm sorry for the first version of the comment
"your boos mean nothing to me, I have seen what makes you cheer" — 300iq, probably
Bro was working for Jump Trading where the salary starts from 300K for new grad. I doubt he will do some bs courses for 2K.

welcome to crypto!
That's why you shouldn't sell your cf account
Are you implying 300iq sold the access to his codeforces account to someone else? That is a strong claim, do you have any proof of this claim?
I don't have any real proof, and I'm not sure if I believe it either. But it's sort of an urban legend that has been going around for a while.
But there are some pieces of evidence pointing towards that:
<bits/stdc++.h>
instead of individual headers, no longer using#ifdef iq
, changing indent size to 4 spaces instead of 2.I don't think first point is strong, as it has definitely been seen people out of some sort of frustration or trolling tanking their rating or half-heartedly taking contests.
The second point is more sus to me, but maybe you could try to explain it with him learning new coding habits through other contexts (school, work, projects).
I think the interesting part is that both happened at the same time.
It'd be strange to learn multiple new coding habits so suddenly, especially space indent size, which doesn't have an impact on anything, but is purely convention.
I don't disagree both things -is-this-fft- said are a bit sus, especially viewed at the same time, and there is a very non-trivial chance he sold the account.
However, he went on a decently long break before changing habits, and both points can be explained by going on break. He said specifically he was going into crypto/finance sphere, I know for a fact at some point he was working with a team of people, and one example why he might pick up new conventions is in many team dev environments 4 spaces is considered more proper than 2.
I know some other big competitive programmers have also changed conventions to better reflect their industry pursuits, so i think this is quite reasonable.
lol, I go on break for two years and come back and reach personal best in FHC, and you are telling me LGM goes on break for half as long and comes back a grey?
(the performance in the contest after this was green)
the chance that he sold his account is almost 100%
Either you didn't read my previous comment or you don't agree with it, but as 300iq clearly doesn't care about cp anymore, I think he might've just randomly joined and trolled or gave up out of frustration without trying (I've done similar).
Yes, a guy that clearly doesn't care about cp anymore is teaching others cp.
I know there is chance that his account hasn't been stolen but the thing itself is very ironic
It is not hard to teach something you are good at but no longer care. It is not uncommon to come back to what you know and have fleeting feelings of wanting fulfillment from helping others.
Did 300iq host any lectures where he showed his face? Or was it just contets?
He did an online editorials
And furthermore, it has been proven that the person conducting said edtorials was said scammer. To tie it further to his account, some other people have said to have "spoken with him in very fluent russian to further explain some problems", so he might not have been your average scammer or smth (and instead actually the eponymous individual)
the most credible online course
First they took our rating with their "plag check", now they're taking our money! Stop that! Grey Lives Matter!

For me, 100$ is a decent amount of money. We need our money back at least.
300iq(in base 4) move
noooo why did you remove vergil pfp
I've stopped seeking motivation and now I need more power. So I googled "I need more power", and that pfp was the second one, after 144p Vergil pfp.
low-key Shadow has the same vibe as Vergil. So I'm cool with that.
Wtf bro for me power from chainsaw man shows up
Hey Vergil, your portal-opening days are over, give me the Yamato
You’ll have to come over here and take it if you want it.
But you knew that already, didn’t you, Dante?
Didn't know he meant this when he said that he is leaving CP for cryptofinance.
His goals are beyond our understanding
Hmm, why did you decide to post it now?
Lol, what do you mean why? He is a famous user of codeforces, and it isn't easy to write such a blog. We decided to wait for him, but we need our money back.
Just out of curiosity, why did you wait for almost 7 months before bringing this up?
I literally answered you above. It isn't easy to write such a blog for a famous user of codeforces. Moreover, you never know what could happen to someone. Maybe it was something serious. So, respectfully, we had to wait.
300iq will win IOI of scam
Do you guys know anyone who actually tutors or has courses here on CodeForces? Summer vacation is coming up and I was thinking about getting a good course/tutor at a reasonable price if that even exists, even though USACO guide is plenty good itself. As for courses, the ones I see on popular course websites doesn't seem helpful at all. The closest is the free MIT OCW ones but I judged they are not strictly CP oriented, albeit very helpful.
I have been coaching competitive programming and in general DSA for over 5 years and tens of students achieved great results under my guidance, you can check out my website and message me or email me to discuss more details.
Huh, why are people downvoting this post? stefdasca is a legit coach with a lot of experience. Even if this was offtopic then Asper should be the one being downvoted.
Btw. a couple of other coaches are mentioned here https://mirror.codeforces.com/blog/entry/103187 but I don't know if those people still teach.
I admit to using an alt as I am too embarrassed to be caught up in this. He accepted non-crypto payment via paypal as well. He (or user on his account) mentioned that he will give refunds but after he said that he instantly disappeared.
Why would you be embarrassed? There is nothing wrong in trying to improve yourself and you didn't do anything wrong. If you have money and can pay for a good mentorship, there's nothing to be ashamed. I started to use CF recently and I have seen a lot of people saying that they are ashamed of losing rating or doing something to improve themselves and I don't understand this kind of mentality. Nobody knows everything and nobody is a robot to get a good rank in all contests...
Why have you been waiting almost a year before posting a blog? Anyway strange actions from 300iq
probably just in case that the refunds were just a little bit delayed (it isn't "a little bit" apparently)
I would rather know why 300iq's level has declined so severely
...
He increased your iq ,as you won't get scammed again....He was genuine:)
