ostrich_'s blog

Hi everyone, I have some questions about competitive programming. If you have time, please leave some comments below; otherwise, you can ignore it.

1. How do you prepare yourself mentally or physically before participating in a contest? Whether it's an hour before or the whole day.
2. How do some people learn so fast? Do they have different lifestyles, food habits, or techniques?
3. When you get stuck at the same rating level, how do you overcome it? Please explain in detail.
4. When you don't understand a topic despite trying hard, what do you do?

I really love CP and am highly interested to know about the lifestyle of LGM and people who are stuck at the same level.

Update: I found a great blog that is related to my problem: https://mirror.codeforces.com/blog/entry/129125#comment-1146199

Errichto answered basically all of your questions. If you don't want to click on the link, search on youtube for "How To Become Red Coder? (codeforces.com)" by Errichto Algorithms and start watching from minute 2:00.

Don't panic so much.keep practicing and participating.

Don't overthink yourself, login 5 minutes before contest and solve the questions as you normally do.

And please "Stop thinking about others Lifestyle , food habits."

Do not think about the rating. Just solve current rating +200 and you will see the results.
