rui_er's blog

By rui_er, history, 6 months ago, In English

Hello, CodeForces.

I'm writing this blog entry to petition to ban FerjaniSassi for their mass harassment and spam blogs.

I was pinged by them for 4 times in their spam blogs, some of which were removed (probably by CodeForces).

After I checked their blog, I was shocked that they pinged thousands of users rated from Expert to LGM in a single blog entry! There are 2 accessible blog entries with mass harassment, and I think there must be more similar blog entries that were removed (because I was pinged for 4 times). Also, their other blog entries didn't contain any meaningful information. These blog entries only contained paragraphs in invalid languages or pictures with unknown meaning.

I believe that mass harassment and spam blog entries shouldn't be allowed in CodeForces. If they also harassed you, or you agree with my opinion, please upvote this blog entry to let me know.

I'd like to ping MikeMirzayanov to check this.

Totally agree! I completely don't understand the passiveness of Codeforces officials in cases like that. They can at least delegate it to a set of moderators.

Same here! I thought it was just me and I was quite confused. Your post really helped and I felt pretty upset about this guy.

I was sent the message 3 times: (Time in China, UTC/GMT +8)

  • Once on June 19th.
  • Twice at 9 p.m. on June 28th.

MikeMirzayanov, Please investigate on this.

There are many users these days who publish blogs & tag whosoever they want also attaching their photos, id's keeping themselves anonymous. Its just pathetic to see their attempts to mentally harass others. Respectful request to codeforces admins/moderators to protect users privacy in all such concerns.

I would advise to do the same against Galium123. 50% of his blogs are nonesens, other 50% are copied from another blogs. And he always starts spamming whenever he gets the chance to do so.

there should be afew requirements to be able to post a blog maybe participate in atleast 5 contests and a solve a problem or something that limits the amount of crap blogs

Agreed, they also can be partially banned from blog writing atleast and can be open for participating in contests or discussions. Would be fair from all ends.

At present, I notice that all the blogs have become invisible, and even when I click on the "a blog enrty", the reminder says "can't find such topic" instead of "you don't have access to ..." (If I recall correctly).

However, I'm curious whether he can still have the chance to post many spam blogs. Anyway, will anybody need to mention a great number of people in a single blog?

Lol, it seems that FerjaniSassi tagged everyone in the first few pages of the rating list. (I was tagged twice)

and there isn't a way to report an instantly deleted blog, and a troll like them, someone who probably used the API to write it automatically, is probably willing to put enough time to make a new account to do it again. Maybe we can limit the number of pings a low rated account can make?.

Why limit it to low rated accounts only? I don't see any reason why a high rated account may ping a lot of people unless it's an event (like the IOI teams blog), which is at most like 500 pings or something? People shouldn't be allowed to ping >1000 users in a single post regardless of their rating.

MikeMirzayanov should seriously just appoint some "community manager" or some other role to take care of random dumb issues like this that pop up all day. The fact that this guy has been doing this for 3 months while cheaters are authoring rounds is crazy. It's understandable if he doesn't have time to check codeforces for this sort of thing, but in that case someone should be appointed to that role.

What do they get by doing these spamming here ?? I have faced this kind of issues on some social platforms where they mention everyone on the group / page to get more views / likes / clicks on their content. But what's the reason here on codeforces, if they are not providing any information. Just to tease others and have fun I guess ??

Damn I got pinged by FerjaniSassi 3 times, and every time I tried to check what that was about, the blog was already deleted.

So I came across this blog, and decided to try to find the user(s) behind this troll account (because that is more entertaining than scrolling through my twitter feed for the 3rd time today).

First, I figured out that the person is Egyptian. When you look at the teams this user was part of, you'll find that all of the other accounts are Egyptian. "Ferjani Sassi" is the name of a football player who temporary played for an Egyptian team, so that checks out.

FerjaniSassi is also a member of the public Egyptian Olympiad in Informatics archive.

This user was in a team with Ahmed57 and Sersawy. I tried finding an Egyptian contest with a competing team named "Momken AC?", but I found nothing. The user was also in a separate team with methanol. methanol and this user virtually participated in a Romanian contest together. I thought that this user would be methanol's teammate in some regional contest. I tried comparing the coding styles of methanol's teammates with the submissions of this account, but nothing matched.

After an hour of almost no progress, I found some useful information. FerjaniSassi had submitted many times on an Educational Round problem F. Another user, Yahia_Emara, was also submitting at the same time. Their codes were the same, with each user making minor changes.

I unfortunately couldn't find any other useful information, and I think it's impossible to uniquely identify the owner of this account. However, I believe that the owner is part of the 2024 Egyptian IOI Team., as that is the main link between most of the accounts I found related to FerjaniSassi.
