Ok, I know it's a dumb question as I'm a high-rated expert now, but I have encountered lots of times when I was stuck in greedy problems. Even if the pattern is quite "easy" to see for most people, I could literally spend an entire hour just to recognize it. Now I wonder if I can seek advice from you guys resolve this issue as it affects me a lot on classic problems. Thank you.
Practice greedy 1500~1900
Ok, actually I'm on my way doing that though.
To be fair, you need to have a very high IQ to understand greedy.
I'm quite good at math actually so I don't think that's the reason.
The observations are extremely subtle, and without a solid grasp of theoretical physics most of the insights will go over a typical cf user's head.
theoretical physics :D?
lol
Being greedy IRL could help
Imagine an IM also told me that as a joke.
Wow, you used to be purple and you are asking how to improve greedy. Actually respect for courage and honesty.
I have been struggling with greedy problems for 2 years and I want to stop this as soon as possible.
Relatable. In one of the recent contests, I couldn't solve Problem C, and it turned out to be only 1200R (and it happened to me a lot of times in the past). I believe solving 1200-1500 problems can help.
I have done about 50 1k4-rated problems and found out that issue. Should I just continue doing more or gradually increasing the difficulty ?
Oh, I didn't see your solved problems distribution. If you are struggling with greedy even after solving 600+ greedy problems, then I think you should consider solving 1700-1900R problems. (Honestly, you have a lot more experience than me, so I am not sure how effective my advice could be)
Considering all problems involving problems that put greedy tags nonsense, yes I have solved 600+, I may do that soon. Thanks for your advice.
