MikeMirzayanov's blog

By MikeMirzayanov, 5 months ago, In English

Hi!

Today I was shown a tweet https://x.com/deedydas/status/1818477947277525242

I'll quote the text here:

International Olympiad winners often go on to start world-changing things. OpenAI, Two Sigma, Telegram, Databricks, Perplexity, Devin, Ethereum, Udemy and even Python! You'll recognize some heavy hitters on the list. Nikolai Durov may be the most decorated of then all.

And there's also an interesting table there (I see Codeforcers there!):

Codeforces will soon turn 15 years old. Maybe this is an occasion to try to compile such a list? Suggest candidates in the comments! Please include at least three fields about the person: Handle, Name, and Career.

It is quite funny to see that the former CEO of Alameda Research is on that table. I guess committing massive fraud is an achievement as well. Though probably the table was made before.

@MikeMirzayanov ’s idea to compile such a list would be brilliant. Such a list will inspire both newbies and experienced coders to aim high. My aspiration will be to make it onto that list a decade from now. Although my current skills are nowhere near where I want them to be, I am determined to improve them with unwavering determination and ambition. I will pursue excellence and elevate my current abilities into a symbol of achievement. This is my journey, and I am focused on achieving my dreams every step of the way.

I'm sorry but theres a difference between confidence and arrogance. Notice how none of the people who even achieved something great are commenting and yet here you are.

Everyone should believe they can do it, but announcing it without anything to show is empty words

Thank you for your feedback. I want to clarify that my intention was never to disrespect anyone, especially those who are highly rated and accomplished. I deeply respect and admire their achievements. My comment was meant to express my personal aspirations and commitment to improvement. I included my name as a way of taking ownership of my journey and goals. I appreciate your perspective and will continue to focus on turning my aspirations into concrete results. No problem man. I may have been too harsh, but the world is harsh and will put down (or in this case downvote) anyone weak especially if they pretend to be strong. Only path is to actually be strong in whatever u do, respect is automatically gained. All the best for your jounrey.
