      Usually the ratings after rolling back will be little lower than before according to the rating system,but it'll increase a lot if some cheaters who do better than you is made out of contest.One of the example is that I experienced changing 1271 -> 1597 to 1271 -> 1646 due to a cheater.

        That's what I thought at first, but even though my ranking didn't change on round 975 (at least I don't think it did) I got to 2016 instead of 2015. No idea why lol

Really wanna downvote. Feeling that I suck pretty hard recently is one thing (4-year hiatus was really something), but the desperate sense that I don't know how I could get back on peak shape, and there are some other "covert" CP-related projects I'm involved in that get nowhere.

Not sure where to go, for now.

    I've experienced rating back to around $$$2000$$$ for four contests.Then I tried some tasks around $$$2400$$$ and it helps.Think a lot before you see solutions,It might be common to use between $$$30$$$ minutes and an hour to solve each of them,but don't give up and it'll help you.

    In addition,go back to see your recent contest,try some problems you hasn't solved yet.I believe problems not over $$$2300$$$ (even $$$2400$$$ to $$$2600$$$,try your best) are the problems you can try to solve with guides,and it's would be enough for you to improve a lot.

    For contest that you can see current standings, see the standings if you have difficulty thinking problems.While looking at the standings,keep calm,and find the problem that have enough people solved or solved by some people who has a just better standings(stutuses that solved $$$1$$$ more problem or two more problems maybe useful for you in a contest getting points by accepting problems such as codeforces,ATcoder or XCPC rules).

      Maybe re-disciplining myself to CP is the way? Tsk... I will admit, I just simply want to play video games and give myself a good sleep after a workday nowadays (I'm already having a full-time job). Sometimes, things are just too tiring that I don't wanna think even being fully aware that it's better for me.
