HellDiver's blog

recently something very interesting happened, my friend participated in a DIV2 contest but due to him being quote "tired" he catastrophically failed the contest, (he was an Expert yet his performance was the same as a pupil) so in order to prevent his rate from dropping down he did something very none sportsmen like, he submitted some random code for one of the problems and then submitted the same code for the same from another account (a fake one, like this one!) so the system would register him as a cheater there for preventing his failure at contest effect his rate, now I know if he does this enough times, his account will be banned but wouldn't it be cool if you were registered as a cheater, the rate changes of the contest were still applied to if they were not in your favor? It's probably not as important to most of you as it is to me, but I think it would be an good change since it would discourage such behavior.

I'd rather they tackle this problem somewhat like codechef, which penaltizes cheaters by reducing their rating drastically. I saw this suggestion on this blog post.
