My opinion: might improve constructive step by step thinking but playing chess so you improve cp is not the brighest idea
I've reached 2200 rating in bullet and blitz on chess.com but even after all that, I would not say it "improved my problem solving skills". I would however say that it can help with building patience and self-control, which are important in CP in general.
You can only be easier to read statement about chess if you're good at chess.
