Hello Codeforces,

As we all know, sponsored rounds is the only sorce of income for competitive programmers (since they're unable to find a "normal" job). But, due to my horrible mistake, I may lose the only opprotunity to make money :-(

You see, when the NEAR project was announced, I was eager to try it. I enjoyed the process, but, when i had a balance of 42N and an overhead of somewhere around 8N, I suddenly remembered that the only place I stored my seed phrase was clipboard of my phone, and, since it was a while ago, it completely disappeared. I said "well, fine, anyway i had too much overhead".

But now, after competing in Good Bye 2024, I realized that my hardwork benefited and I earned 1N. But my CF profile is already attached to one NEAR wallet I don't have access to! There's a button "detach" which may detach a wallet from account, but it doesn't allow you to do so if your overhead exceeds 2N. The main catch is that now acade has feature which allows to reduce overhead by 10N given that you have enough on your balance, so, if only i was able to push that single button, my prize would not have been lost. So, this is a very sad situation, and I hope (but don't really believe) that someone from NEAR may advice some way to not die of hunger.

This whole Acade thing is just a nice way to exploit impressionable CPers — it's almost impossible not to get overhead there, and they set the withdrawal limit way too low, probably deliberately so that they don't actually have to pay anyone...

Also the you can only use the "Reduce overhead" button once in ten "levels", and getting up from level 5 to level 15 takes so unbelievably long that you will have obviously made 10N overhead in that time. It's all a scam, don't waste your time like I did.

At least I got to solve some random hard problems through it (and discovered my own algorithm for what I later found out was max-flow...)

“it's almost impossible.” I should probably say that it's only true when you start solving problems. As a person with a total of 300 Lvl I can say that in time you will stop getting rejects and your overhead will be ~0. But yes, in the beginning it may seem that the rules are very harsh.

Unfortunately, when adding new archives, people quickly solve all simple tasks, so there are still complex ones. But often $$$2N$$$ tasks are “sort the array” style tasks, in other words very simple tasks.

When you get 3 2700+-rated problems in a row from Asia-Pacific ICPC finals, that's an automatic 5N overhead. Maybe you're so good that you instantly solve all of these, most of us are not...

You are right. But this was fixed, now you can't get > 1.5N overhead per task:)
