I was looking at the contest ratings today and it made absolutely no sense to me because the top 100 had so many newbies or just low-rated contestants.
Then I found like 2 links that are literally live streaming the solutions while the contest was ongoing on youtube. I'm not going to post the links anymore (I initially did, but thanks to some people sending me dm's I realized I'm actually just advertising these bullshit channels).
Idk if these channels will get taken down, but imma just say. It really pisses me off man. For those that actually cheated through this, shame on you. For those that are genuine, respect to you. Lets keep grinding my fellow brothers and sisters!

Thanks for pointing that out, Nik. I appreciate it. Honestly, I didn’t think about the fact that by posting I might just be giving more exposure to those channels. I was just really frustrated, because I genuinely enjoy Codeforces.
But seeing cheaters make it to the top 100 with zero effort while I grind every single day is extremely discouraging. What’s worse is that it feels like I’ll never know my true rating anymore, since these leeches will just keep cheating and ruining the ladder.
That said, I’ll just keep focusing on practicing problems and improving myself. The world isn’t always fair, but I’ll do what I can on my end.

I think this method can be exploited as well, by using multiple phone numbers (parents, friends, siblings etc)

Bad news, this doesn't work.
Good news, there are considerable efforts from codeforces team to make sure the top of standings are at least reasonable.
Mike should create a better plan to ban the cheaters as soon as they cheated.

unfortunately, it is. At least in india, having the tag can you get you interviews, and if you're able to get one, the questions normally asked are like leetcode medium.
I do wish interviewers in this country get some brain (no innuendo) and start asking these people questions of the same ratings as their profile.
Nonetheless, big companies know their shit, so yeah this model doesn't work there.

Codeforces can add watermarks to show there user id.
Not even Youtube live streams but the source codes are also found at Telegram channels.

Absolutely! I'd rather wait a bit more to get my rating than get an unfairly lower rating and I'm definetly not the only such person. It wouldn't really hurt anyone to pick out the cheaters after or during system testing.

I think top-100 had many low-rated contestants is normal. Maybe they use other websites to practice coding, like Luogu or Atcoder, and only participant for few contest.
