I created a problem on Polygon when it suddenly crashed with HTTP 500 Internal Server Error. After Polygon restored its service, I found that the problem I just created cannot be edited — I cannot start my working copy. When I click “Start”, it looks like:

One of my problems was created two years ago, encountering the same bug, but now it is still broken, so the solution “try again later” does not hold. I have not started my working copy, so the solution “remove the current problem working copy” does not hold either.

My other problems do not have the same bug.

Even worse, I cannot delete the problem (deleting it requires editing it), which means that this problem name will always follow me and can never be used for my other problems in the future.

I am seeking a solution — I do not mind deleting the problem; after all, I have not started it yet.

By the way, Polygon is intermittently encountering HTTP 502 Bad Gateway.

I believe this is some issue with polygon internally, I have encountered it myself.

I suggest that you do not delete the problems / working copies to avoid losing work (if you have any), just try again later. Logging out and in again might also help, but I don't think it's necessary.

I have no saved work. And, unfortunately, logging out and in again also does not work.

Maybe try clearing cache? I'm still able to view and edit problem as of now.

Where can we clean the cache?

Of course you can see your problems. I created the problem when the website suddenly broke down, which, I guess, is why there is an error.

Clearing cache is a common thing in internet browser, it depend on your browser, just search online on how to do it. Alternatively, you can try to use other another browser to see if this would actually help first.

As for the error, I have seen that error message myself like 3 weeks ago, and my step of "fixing it" was just to logout and login and wait, and maybe I did clear the cache too because that's a common thing that can cause issue on website. I don't know for sure if any of that helped and most likely it just fixed itself after polygon is back to normal.

I even come up with an idea: swap the names of two problems! So I can first create a problem named “iosdhjfoihasdiofhois”, then swap name with the damaged problem.

I think this function, if available, will not only help me, but also help many other problem setters.
