I have participated in 4 Codeforce rounds up till now, my performances were 1490, 1350, 1150(I flopped), 1350, and my rating was 1195 last I checked. I just logged on today and idk how this happened but my rating is being shown as 1420 and if I use tools to check my performances, it shows 1490, 2100(wthhhh), 1450, 1450. Does anyone know why this is happening? Is it because of the rating changes? but surely they shouldn't change my rating to 1420.

EDIT : THEY FIXED THE ISSUE AND RESET THE INCREASED RATING

this is roleback

cheaters are getting removed from contest, and you are getting fair ratings

and in some of the past contests cheating was sky rocket, so yeah it is normal to get such a jump in your ratings

specially if we consider the fact that most of the cheater were pupil or newbie->specialist

kk thanks! but why would I get a 2100 performance for doing ABC in div2? So many people solved those 3 and I did it pretty slow, hence why I got 1150 perf

div2 are considered diffcult for the majority of the codeforces because majority is newbie and pupils

even if you did slow i can see that you have usen little to no attempts for every problem so it is worthy of that score

also, i dont think that 3 div2 problem in 2 hours is slow for a pupil, i havent seen a pupil doing it normally before, when i was pupil i solved 3 questions in div 2 rarely in first attempt, so your performence was good and deserving

also, can you help me with something "https://www.reddit.com/r/codeforces/comments/1o78pno/need_help_with_assigment/" just fill a form mentioned in this blog this will truly help me a lot!!!

I think this is just a bug. The rating was miscalculated during the recent rollback. In Div. 2, it’s almost impossible to reach a performance of 2100 by solving only three problems.

it have never happened before on codeforces

and it is very unliely that such a bug happened only to a 1 profile

    not impossible though

On discord, someone suggested that since it was my second contest, my rating was adjusting and I got +230, and while doing rating rollbacks Codeforces thought that my +230 meant that I must have got a really good performance

Anyways i'm happy my rating isn't VERY HIGH now, I'd prefer it reflect my true rating, which I believe is around here or a little bit lower maybe

I used to do programming before, and then I did problems for my national informatics olympiad, and just random problems. Eventually I went on Leetcode for a little bit but switched to Codeforces fairly quickly, so I already do have a little experience with CP

          no

finally expert isnt created by you only, it is a cf trend done by a lot of context, so it is highly unlikely that she/he will do it referring you

I highly suspect that the rating has been recalculated without considering deduction of displayed rating for users' first contests.

For example, the writer of this blog got $$$+565$$$ on their second contest, but if you check carrot on https://mirror.codeforces.com/contest/2145/standings/participant/220903086#p220903086 this page, their performance is only $$$1347$$$ (which looks quite accurate compared to other past contests). Considering that they got $$$+521$$$ on their first contest, their real rating should only be $$$1421$$$, so their real rating should decrease after the second contest, which means its delta should be less than $$$350$$$ after applying the "bonus". If we assume that their rating was really calculated based on their displayed rating ($$$521$$$), then getting $$$+215$$$ (plus $$$+350$$$ bonus) is quite reasonable.

if cheaters are getting flagged and removed.. there must not be much difference in between the contest rating and new updated rating. but today when i checked my last ratings where i actually got a good increment was reduced. One of my newbie friend just became pupil with 1204 of rating and now we checked he's rating was down by 55 pts.
