My friend Anish_Rooj just informed me that his rating, out of nowhere increased to 1120 from 930. So I opened my profile, and found out that my rating went down to 1076 from 1126. What the hell happened? And why?

Same here also. My rating was somewhere about 800 . Now showing 736. May be codeforces re-evaluates the rating or its a bug.
Re-evaluation doesn't usually yield this much changes. Change of ±50 is massive. And some gained / lost even 200 rating (as it turns out). It has to be a bug.

Hi! As far as I understood, there was a rollback of about the last five contests, where the “cheaters” were removed, which led to a recalculation of the results. As a result, many people’s ratings went up.
Okay but why the hell did I lose 50 rating points? From 1126 to direct 1076.
Honestly, I don’t know either. I have the same problem: my rating was reduced from 1835 to 1803, even though before the rollback I had +35. I also wrote about this in my own blog. Hopefully, they will explain what’s going on soon. If they do, I’ll leave a comment under your blog and share what the actual issue is.
In the rollback, cheaters are removed. This causes the amount of ppl who actually partipated in the contest to decrease. If there are many cheaters below your rank, your rating will decrease more, and vice versa. New people usually get lower ranks, so there are less cheaters above their rank, increasing their rating.
This is just my theory, idk why your rating actually dropped lol

My rating suddenly increased probably due to the rollback; I opened my profile and found out that the rating change of the last div 4 and 1056 div 2 got changed.
My current rating decreased by roughly 20 points after the rollback, which is quite strange.
1 gram of happiness because I got +1 rating, 5 tons of disappointment because ch**ters are reaching Div.1 contests en masse
My Rating decreased from 1201 to 1161 instantly. And I can see fluctuations in last 10 contests.

Mine dropped from around 1292 to 1268. I haven't participated in contests for over a month
