My rating went from 1561 to 1587 for a grand total net gain of +26. I solved A-C and ranked 2665 out of 16287. According to CList, problem C is roughly an 1870 rated problem. The last time I managed to solve a problem in or near Candidate Master territory (Palindrome Flipping), my rating went up more than 140 points! This time, I only gained 26 points. Is this because of cheaters? But even then, after the contest I tried Gemini 3 Pro on problem C and it gave an incorrect solution. Were some of the harder problems AI solvable?
I even asked Gemini 3 Pro how much rating gain I should expect given my rank and the fact that it was a Div 1 + Div 2 round and it said AT LEAST +50. Usually when I ask Gemini to predict my rating change it's pretty accurate. Maybe this round had a much weaker pool of competitors than usual? I don't know man, I kind of feel scammed. I thought I would for sure reach expert this time.

I think that it is because a lot of people solved $$$D$$$, which had more points than $$$C$$$ but was easier I guess. Also, you solved $$$B$$$ and $$$C$$$ fairly late, so that puts you at the bottom (more or less) of people who solved either $$$C$$$ or $$$D$$$ (or both). btw you can get this extension if you would like to see ur predicted rating change.
Yeah B was stupidly simple but eluded me until after I solved C. It's like when someone blunders their queen in chess but you miss it because your brain subconsciously discounted the possibly of your opponent playing such a stupid move.
Honestly I still thought a rank of 2665 out of 16287 in a Div 1 + Div 2 round would be enough to take me from 1561 to expert, but oh well.
Congrats on master though, your performance was incredible. A-D in 40 minutes!
You are always bringing up chess lol, well maybe not always, but this is at least the second time. But tbh that has happened to me quite a few times, mostly on over-the-board chess. It seems like I play ~$$$500$$$ points below my online board rating when I do real life chess. Also thanks, but btw that was not in today's contest.
Oh lol whoops. Maybe that lack of sharpness is what's causing me rating points. And yeah, I love chess, just wish I got into it at a younger age (same with competitive programming).
really funny coming from the guy who always brings up iq lmao
but yeah what he said, D gives more points, and more people solved c than d, we can also assume a decent amount solved both C and D due to the numbers
in other words, imagine you skipped a 1700 C on a normal contest to solve a 1900 D, a similar effect happens in this contest (except you're not skipping a problem)
Does rating gain take into account the same problem ratings as CList calculates?
