I wonder, does a human is multi tasking? Actually before I tried to "think the logic" while listening to music. But I could not concentrate well.

When I really want to code something, I remove the headset, even if it's Mozart playing.

Why are you talking about multitasking here? It does not always work this way. For me listening music is simply a way to make programming more comfortable.

Here is an awkward analogy — can't you work on some problem while eating (even if it is not the best idea to write code at this time)? You are eating, because being hungry makes you uncomfortable and distracts you from solving a problem; while preparing breakfast may distract you from thinking about a solution, because you need to be focused on cooking, eating this breakfast does not sounds like a hard task :)

Some people prefer perfect silence, some other just feel uncomfortable without music.

Radiohead at the background makes perfect. I can listen to the cycled Reckoner song for hours while training. However, I prefer competing in silence.

Anything with lyrics that i can ignore. So pure instrumental (Jelonek or Lindsey Stirling are really nice) or something like Infected Mushroom with repetitive and distorted lyrics is fine for me. Silence is fine too, ofc.

Actually, I've never coded while listening to music, but I think it's something worth trying out.

Anyway, when I do it, as much as I'd like hearing some anime songs or Castlevania music, it will surely be something more quiet and instrumental, like Secret Garden, some movies OST's or classical music.

I don't always listen to music while coding, but sometimes I feel like listening to something soothing. In times like that I simply go to youtube and type "epic xyz", where xyz is an instrument name.

Most of the time I listen to "epic piano" or "epic violin". I tend to simply start a mix video of length 2 hours or more. So that I don't have to continuously shuffle the music myself.

Here is an example:https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5hJZ2xEixrg

Men, seriously, isn't music distracting you? I listen to music pretty often, but it definitely has negative influence on my concentration when doing contests. Paying attention to smallest details is very important in CP and when listening music part of concentration goes to humming melody in your head/lipsyncing lyrics :P.

Aren't other people going/talking around or noise from the street distract you? For me music usually creates background and I don't pay attention to specific words at all so it doesn't distract me.

Hm, I usually take part in contests in my room, so there are no other people and the noise from the street is rather rare and not that loud. Though those are two kinds of distractions. Other noises are of kinds which make me nervous, so I'm distracted and music is something I unconsciousnessly concentrate on, instead of devoting 100% of my brain to solving tasks, 50% of it is occupied with listening to music :P.

When I don't listen to music, 50% of my brain is focused on "WHY IS IT SO SILENT? Has the world ended?", then looking around nervously looking for signs of life.

I usually listen to Radio on Google Music (before it was Rdio). It creates playlist based on my music preferences (previously listened songs that I've chosen) and I'm pretty happy with it. My playlist usually consists of alternative rock/metalcore bands like Linkin Park, Breaking Benjamin, Bullet for My Valentine, Three Days Grace, 3 Doors Down, Papa Roach, Lostprophets, Fall Out Boy, Staind, Rise Against, Shinedown and similar.

But I must admit that when I listened to the music, it caught my attention a lot, hence I was less focus at coding and prefer not to listen anything then, :(

Anyway, OST Theme of One Punch Man "Seigi Shikkou" is a best confidence-boosting song for me and I really recommend it to be listened while coding :)

Well, most of the time I listen to Bulgarian rap, I think we have some very strong MCs (Secta is one of them btw :D) but unfortunately you won't understand what they say. Speaking about English rap, I think Redman, KRS, Wu-Tang Clan are good choices (besides the obvious ones like 2Pac, Biggie and so). Also, I love rap battles and emcees who can spit good freestyles and because of that, I can't miss MC Jin — see this compilation — https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VP0I-3yRTts and this battle — https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=H-vi-0HJrNY (he is the Chinese guy).
