Caribbean Online Judge (COJ) coj.uci.cu invites you to participate in a progressive contest that will be held tomorrow. Take a look at the link for more information.
This is a very interesting kind of contest, it consists of some levels ordered by difficulty where you need to solve an amount of problems to make it to the next level.
I hope you enjoy it.
Sounds nice =) By the way the timeanddate link can't be seen in the page you linked, it might be better to add it

Well, it appears to be fine here... I try both, from Coj and from the link you posted. Best regards...
Do I need to register in this competition or registration on the site will be enough to compete?
You have to register in the site and then you will be able to participate because the competition has free registration.
How to register for the contest?
You only need to register in the COJ System. The participation on the contest is free for all users that have an account in the COJ.
There are the past editions (final standing) of the contest: - 1st http://coj.uci.cu/contest/cscoreboard.xhtml?cid=1125 - 2nd http://coj.uci.cu/contest/contestview.xhtml?cid=1130 - 3rd http://coj.uci.cu/contest/contestview.xhtml?cid=1134 ;)
Specific rules for the "The COJ Progressive Contest":
The challenge is as follows: - * The problems are divided by difficulty levels, and in the begining you only have access to the first level of problems. - * In order to gain access to the next level of problems, you must solve a specific number of problems from the current level (defined by the Contest Setter). - * Not all levels require the same amount of problems, and, of course, we design each level to be more challenging than the last one.
About the ranking of the contest: - * No will have penalty time for rejected submissions. - * No will have (less or more) points by solve any problem after or before another user. - * Users that have solved one problem, they gain the same points for them. The gained points are in this form: TPOINTS / (TLEVELS — PLEVEL + 1) where TPOINTS is the Total Points defined for all the problems in the contest, TLEVELS is the Total Levels defined for the contest and PLEVEL is the level of the problem in question. Note that problems in the first level give you TPOINTS / TLEVELS points, and problems on the last level give you TPOINTS points (full points). The higher the level, the more points are gained. - * If two users have the same points in the ranking, the user who has solved her problems before the other user must be in a high rank.
For this 4th edition of "The COJ Progressive Contest" we have four levels of problems, and you need to solve 3 problems from each one to pass to the next level. On the other hand, you only need to solve 11 problems in the entire contest to see all the problems in all the levels. The contest has a duration of 24 hours. The value for TPOINTS is 2520 points (in this edition).
Problems by levels: - * Level 1 : 5 problem(s). - * Level 2 : 4 problem(s). - * Level 3 : 3 problem(s). - * Level 4 : 3 problem(s).
Can you get to the last level? Can you solve all the problems? This is the real challenge for you.
We hope that you enjoy it very much! COJ Development Team (CDEVT).
One more "important information", the statements of the tasks are only in english. Sorry for that... The contest start in 1 hour and 45 minutes :)
Can you add the list of problemsetters to contest information?
