Hi Codeforces!
We are pleased to announce the start of registration for Dasha Code Championship! We are Dasha.AI — a conversational AI startup with the huge ambition to use voice AI to pass the Full Turing Test. In a very short time, we managed to assemble a strong team of top specialists — among us there are 4 winners of international mathematics competitions, 16 ICPC participants, and several PhDs and Doctors of Science. Scientific research in the field of AI is led by Alexander Dyakonov — Doctor of Physical and Mathematical Sciences, Professor of Moscow State University, Professor Emeritus of the Russian Academy of Sciences, former Kaggle #1.
Recently we’ve been featured on TechCrunch. Every day we work to bring the future closer.
Examples of calls
Our team has grown and exists in a big part thanks to ICPC, and now we want to start paying tribute to the community by holding regular prize championships.
Dasha Code Championship
Dasha Code Championship will be held in two stages — Elimination and Final. The Final will be held simultaneously in two locations — St. Petersburg and Novosibirsk, Russia. According to the results of the Elimination round, lists of finalists in St. Petersburg and Novosibirsk will be formed. Top competitors will be invited to the finals according to the results of the Elimination round and based on their location and ability to travel. The winners of the onsite final (separately to each city) will be awarded the following prizes:
- I place — iPhone X or 70000 RUR
- II place — iPad 2018 or 25000 RUR
- III place — Headphones Jabra Move or 10000 RUR
- all onsite finalists will receive a signature Dasha T-shirt
Round 1 (Elimination Internet Round)
The open Elimination Internet Round starts on September 14, 2019 at 16:05 (MSK). The round will be rated, open to all members of the Codeforces community. Top 30 competitors will receive official Dasha t-shirts!
Round 2 (Onsite Final Round)
The Onsite Final Round starts on September 22, 2019 at 12:05 (MSK). The finals will take place at the same time in St. Petersburg (at ITMO) and Novosibirsk (at the Dasha office). The top 50 participants in the Elimination round will be invited to St. Petersburg and Novosibirsk (travel expenses are not covered). The results will be made separate for each of the cities and prizes awarded accordingly. For online participants an open rating round will take place.
About company
We first got the idea in 2016. In 2018, a team of ICPC finalists and semi-finalists was formed and in early 2019, Dasha raised $2M from the RTP Ventures and RTP Global funds (early investors in Yandex). We already have over 18 big clients in the Russian Federation and pilot projects in the USA with Fortune 1000 companies. At the moment, Dasha has made over 4,000,000 phone calls on a number of use cases. Our goal is to create a universal platform for voice AI, which will pass the full Turing test with voice. To do this, we need the best minds on the planet and in our team you will have a chance to fully realize your engineering and scientific potential. You can contribute to the creation of something that will define tomorrow’s world.
You can join our team by filling out the form here (for Russian-speaking participants).
Make Science Great Again!
Is everyone eligible to participate?
Yes, everyone can take part in the Elimination, it will be rated for all. Top 30 participants will get a t-shirt (excluding onsite finalists, they will receive t-shirts on the Onsite Finals).
Onsite Final Rounds will be open for those who will attend it in SPb or Novosibirsk (we will invite top participants according to their place in the Elimination). Also, there will be a mirror contest for the Final Round open (and rated!) for everyone.
Wow, fantastic! It must be great!
Good luck to everyone!!!
RUR? What kind of currency is that?
I am a newbie to sarcasm too. :(
It is not. The current code of Russian rubles is RUB. RUR is the code of old Russian rubles, functioning between 1992 and 1998, before redenomination in 1998.

The comment was meant to be humorous, to point out the mistake. Cheers!
OOPS! Got you wrong!
What are the rules of the contest?
How hard will the round be? Will it be harder than a standard D1 round? And how many tasks?
I just found out that ive got a typo XD
I am not able to register for the contest. I end up at same page after clicking register button.
Try putting a tick on bottom message that ask if you are able to participate in onsite final.
What if one can't visit the venue for the finals. It displays the following message.
Please do not check this box just in case. Check it if you really have the opportunity to come to St. Petersburg or Novosibirsk on September 22 yourself, without any help. We do not cover transportation costs and do not provide visa or any other support. We assume that those who live in or near St. Petersburg or Novosibirsk will take part in the Final.
I also encountered same issue as you did. Ticking worked for me. I mean what are the chances that the conditions would apply for me to go to the finals?
same here
Do the finalists get accommodation during the contest, or it is not covered too ?
A 1-week gap between elimination and finals is pretty close. Combined with the fact that there's less than a month between the announcement and finals, even finalists from Russia could find themselves unable to go to the finals.
So basically everyone planning to take part in the Grand Prix of SPb doesn't have an option to fight for the prizes in case if he proceeds to the finals (without letting his team down ofc)
snarknews confirmed that any opencup team will have an official opportunity to write it on Sept 21. As SPbSU Championship will be held on Sept 15, I believe that problems will be ready.
Oh wow... the contest will very thrilling ^_^. 70K o.O
Hope that cf will add more servers in order to prevent 30 minute queueforces
why we can not participated without tο accepted the dasha rules?
how to rate for all, i don't quite understand
Like the Codeforces Round #583 (Div. 1 + Div. 2, based on Olympiad of Metropolises)!
thank you
Best of Luck for your first contest as a problemsetter.
Guys, please. If you do not plan to/can't come to the Final in Novosibirsk or St. Petersburg, then do not specify in the registration form that you will come! Organizers do not cover expenses, do not organize a trip. The onsite Final is supposed for residents of these cities, or who is easy to come. I see dozens of responses from India and China that you are ready to come. I do not think that this is actually so. Please, if you messed up something, then uncheck decision here https://mirror.codeforces.com/userForm/e7f47c7db6806674
Thanks for the update MikeMirzayanov!!!
It'll be fun ! :D
There goes an iPhone X
You have mentioned that your team has 16 ICPC participants. Could you please clarify if these "participants" participated in World finals, Regionals or Online round?
Tbh the exact skill at rapid algorithmic competitions isn't very relevant for software development, it's more about the ability to employ some ways of thinking. Also, online rounds for ICPC are fairly India-specific and I wouldn't be surprised if nobody at this company even knew they exist.
Your t-shirts are tight around a neck. It's hard to breathe.
