The Ranklist of online preliminary round of ICPC conducted by CodeChef was modified by removing a question "SUMOR". Not only our team but many teams from all over India spent their time solving this question and many of them even got AC. But then suddenly they removed the question making the time we spent on that problem useless. That time would have been spent on some other problem which we could have solved. The removal of that problem clearly affected year long practice and time spent. This matter really needs some concern from CodeChef and higher authorities of ICPC India Regionals.

Whatever codechef did is very wrong. It is not justifiable for the team who put their time to solve those problems. Even last time also, codechef failed to organize a good ICPC contest. Good luck for future.
Many participants came up with a brute force code to check the greedy algorithm and found it to be incorrect. Really wondering how none of the testers bothered to write a brute force for an unproven greedy solution before putting it in such an important contest.
I think Codechef shouldn't host these precious Contests from next year!

I agree that Codechef shouldn't host these contests simply because they're an unnecessary extra load and it should be the responsibility of local organisers — universities. If no Indian universities are able to prepare ICPC contests by themselves, they don't deserve to be in ICPC.
No one asked for your advice of whether indians Deserve to be in icpc Or not. This is not our fault if a problem had weak tests. If they had not removed it, then also some people are gonna protest. And yes, mistakes are not deliberately done. Even problem setter on cf face such issues and that too very often. Yes I understand that this round had great significance and a big mistake by codechef. But still, you cant judge any platform based on a single mistake. Btw, if cf is the best platform, then chef stands second.
Btw it's funny seeing you try to explain Codechef to me when I'm responsible for problem statements on Codechef.

This is a bit off-topic but since you brought this up- I feel the quality of problems is much better on codechef than codeforces. Though codeforces wins in how good it's editorials are and how well the contests are conducted.
If by quality you mean "the amount of obscure algorithms you have to know". The hardest problem from last Long is just write matroid intersection. Wow, quality content.
Long challenge usually does have 1 or 2 problems in which you might have to read a few papers but I am not talking about those. Also for me the recent rise in the number of ad-hoc problems(like those involving some efficient simulation) in codeforces has been irritating.
Can you share 3-5 best codechef problems this year in your opinion? I'm not a regular on codechef so I could miss some gems
In general I think Codechef have lower quality of problems than it had before. I can find some cool problems in old period (QTREE6, BTREE, RNG, GERALD07, BCYCLES, DMCS), but from Snackdown 2019 and OCT19, no problem was that interesting.
Anyway I think Codechef is better than Topcoder. But I will never consider CC as a sane platform as long as it have marathon tasks.
But I’m not a regular follower of CC too, so maybe some can add more. (summoning 300iq and his chinese friend?)
