Easy for you to say. It's not easy making good questions all the time.

If you are that bored, then better do some virtual contests.

For fucks sake.

I've said this before — preparing contests requires serious work. I'm sure people at Codeforces are working as hard as they can to frequently deliver quality contests. To me your post comes off as very entitled and demanding. Like do you think that people have simply forgotten about writing contests? I mean you are not paying for these contests or anything.

Also I like how people asking this are always Div 2 and often Div 3. You guys realize that you get three times more contests than us? Also there is much more content on other sites too, that is oriented towards the lower levels.

Also also, people may be stuck at home but the world hasn't stopped. Many people still work and study, some of them need to work more now.

Exactly. Idk why everyone is so hungry for contests. I mean there's already SOOO MANY contest which are available for virtual participation. Why not try those? :D

Perhaps if div 2 and div 3's were allowed to set contests for themselves :p

Then we'd either get our holy grail of increased frequency, or learn the true difficulty of making quality contests and stop being so entitled, as you called it.

You can always suggest problems to contest setters to help make more high quality problems available...

How? I've tried to do so via the propose problem option but never received any feedback.

And also, I find it much more productive to solve hard problems with 500 rating points above my contest rating, rather than mindlessly giving contests.

making and organizing a contest is not a cakewalk process. Even if the writers start preparing problems today, it will take atleast 2-3 months to publish. That means their hardwork of today's will be reflected after few months.

vote this blog up

Seems more like a "#IWantContribution" post to me.

FFT says it all in his comment. If you want to participate in contests for the sake of solving problems, there exists "Virtual Participation" is a feature available on CF. Consider using it as it would give you the whole Time pressure~ feel. I think Xellos had an advertising post about it too long back, don't remember and am too lazy to check his\her\their blogs to find out. If you are hungry for a rating increase, you can jump up hundreds of points in only one contest, if you are good enough, but considering everyone who posts this kind of stuff, I guess not :p My point is, if you want to just solve problems, you can do so individually or in a contest simulated environment as practice. Be considerate and mindful instead of insensible as the problem setters too are only human and there's an extent to which they can do things.

It's not easy to create good contests. Maybe selecting a contest at codeforces or atcoder and doing it virtually isn't a bad option for you.

if you want a feel like a real contest and not give virtuals and want some competitions you can do one thing , 1) make a community of like minded coders 2) take help of someone who is 1900+ and make a group 3) make and play mashups every day ,every member at same time

it will almost feel like a live contest ,this is what our college club is doing and i am really enjoying it.

So.. Virtual Contest created for what ?

In many countries where schools are shut down including China, most high school students have to take online courses at home. So more contests may cause stress to both authors and participants

If you are bored and want to give more contests, what you can better do is to check other sites as well. You can use this contest calendar from which you can be updated with contests from other websites as well.

I think this guy already knows about this kind of sites. But people like him (who are usually div 2) just want to get the feeling of being in a contest so that he can call himself a "Competitive" Programmer who "solves problems". Lmao. Just ignore such dudes.

If you are bored and want to participate in contests, apart from codeforces u have :- 1) Atcoder (weekly) 2) CodeChef (3 contests in a month, one of them is 10 day challenge) 3) interviewbit (you can solve problems here, mainly interview type ques) 4) SPOJ (you can solve problems here) 5) LeetCode (3 contests per 2 weeks) 6) HackerEarth (3 contests in a month, one of them is 10 day challenge)

and u can do virtual participation in codeforces, Atcoder and LeetCode.

I know at this time you are right but think about the contest writers. It takes a lot of effort to makes questions and its test cases. But we can do previous contest virtually. It is also a good option to us busy during this lock down situation.

Maybe you can do something else , like doing your homework or having classes. It's not easy to write a contest.

I think that, the number of contests in this platform is already larger than other platforms, such as LeetCode, AtCoder and so on. Therefore, the the number of contests is already enough for me. I don't need more contests.
