I want to learn C++ for competitive programming. I have a good grasp (for competitive programmming needs) of Java. Where do you recommend learning it? Which editors do you use (I used Intellj Idea for Java)?

You can learn from cplusplus.com
Sublime text
It's a good choice to learn C++ for competitive programming. The resources are available which will be really beneficial for your through practice.
1. Compiler: I use code blocks. It is really easy to use and user interface is quite good. Besides, most of the contestants also use 'Geany', Sublime Text(Which is basically an editor). It's your choice. Choose the one which makes you comfortable. ;)
2. Resources: There is plenty of resources available on the internet. I will recommend you to learn stl(standard template library) of c++ as soon as possible. It will really help you to go through.
Here you will find some good problems on STL. Password(if ask): amrapari
