I think it will take like three months since I am a good coder. I have experience creating Roblox games and Discord bots, so I already know most of the topics in competitive programming. The only reason I am not legendary grandmaster is because of my experience. I have only done competitive programming for two months, so I am not familiar with the format. Once I learn the format, I will never lose rating (as long as my internet doesn't go out like in the last three contests). What do you guys think?
"Should I try to get legendary grandmaster?" — Yes.
With that mentality? — No.
if u want to do it, do it, if u don't want to do it, don't do it lol
Go Float yourself
What exactly do you think Competitive Programming is?
I already know if statements, while loops, and advanced topics like classes. What else do you need?
Competitive programming requires much more besides knowledge of a programming language. It's mostly about knowing existing algorithms, being able to apply algorithms to solve problems, and sometimes inventing new algorithms. Coding is just a small part of it.
You're a victim of the Dunning-Kruger effect. You don't know enough about CP to accurately assess your own abilities. Try solving some hard problems here and look at their solutions. You'll see that most solutions are simple in terms of the language features they use. For example, classes and templates are pretty uncommon in code written during the contest (as opposed to copy-pasted prewritten code). Those problems are hard not because they require advanced language features to solve, but because they require advanced algorithms, techniques, and problem-solving skills. In other words, it's more about theoretical computer science problem-solving than coding.
Aim high, but don't set unreasonable expectations for yourself. Nobody can become top 30 in the world at anything in three months. If becoming LGM was as easy as you described there would be a lot more than 30 out there considering that there are millions of professional software developers out there.
You just don't understand his potential. Tbh it will probably only take him 2 months. Maybe you just jealous? fial1 orz.
I wish I could know if statements, while loops, and advanced topics like classes.
advanced topics like classes
If classes is an advanced topic for you , then you may want to keep grey as your favorite color , as you will see it every time you log in
Great joke man, +1 and favourited
Though I do see you as an epitome of the Dunning-Kruger effect, I'd really hope if you become an LGM and share your journey with us! All the best!
yes. it is very easy i think. the people who say it is hard are just n00bs and dont try and want us to fail. i know we practice, and if we practice it is easy i think. wish you high rating and LGM.
hi
heloe, how to become SPECIALIST? hoiw many hours a day do you pracitce. contact me at 1-628-431-1288 and plz tell me how to pracitce. i
I don't know if I'm more afraid of comments thinking that this is a real blog, or the blog.
Roblox games are the epitome of programming skill. If you are able to make those, I believe becoming lgm will be a light exercise, but still a big enough title it might be worth your time. I hope to gain your programming ability one day.
I'll wait for that and see. The dream would be fine.
But if you're not a Master in two rounds' time... Hmmm, I doubt it for a bit.
I think there won't be Div1 rounds in 3 months, so good luck.
Really? :(
Why not?
Because problem setters are lazy and/or busy to set a D1 round.
Guys Robloxian orz he'll be at lgm in no time stop underestimating his ability
Long road ahead bud
idk why but I am beginning to relate to this effect, interesting read bdw.
As i remember I was almost always confident as hell.
Well yeah me too, I guess we haven't crossed the initial maxima yet :p
BTW I was almost always as confident as now. =)
It's not about experience only, It also depends on your Algorithmic skills and logic building ability. so work on it.
I heard somewhere that it takes 10000 hours to master a given field, so I reckon that $$$\frac{10000}{90} \approx 111$$$ hours per day should be enough to become LGM in three months.
This tells us that we need to find a planet where a day equals to 111 hours and take contests there.
