SecondThread vs. galen_colin Lockout Duel (ft. neal, stevenkplus)
Good morning everyone!
There are three great unsolved questions on Codeforces that every pupil dreams to one day know the answer to:
- What's the best opening move when playing the Epsilon Guessing Game against a geometry problem?
- How many cyans is Um_nik worth, modulo $$$10^9+7$$$?
- Who is really the 229th best programmer on Codeforces: SecondThread or galen_colin?
While we may never know the answer to the first two, Colin and I will settle the third question once and for all this Sunday in a 1v1 duel! Don't miss it!
Join us at this time on Sunday where we will compete head-to-head in a 1v1 lockout at https://www.twitch.tv/nealwu, with live commentary from neal!
Update: stevenkplus, the initiator of the first Lockout grudge match, will be co-commentating as well! Woohoo!
Update: YouTube video of the duel is posted: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WCqs6hbTMJY. Now includes Twitch chat!

Breaking news: codeforces's prediction is already out!
Looks like it didn't think much and just used ASCII values to compare.
Word on the street is that I have a pretty good character...
The answer to the second question is easy->
Um_nik is worth 6969 cyans.

I thought it was well known by now that your worth is exponential in rating, doubling every 200 points. For example I am worth roughly 32 cyans and Um_nik is worth roughly 32 me-s.
I cant resist my urge to comment that this blog is 10/10. There is nothing to criticize here. Can't wait to see the blogs after the match.
If galen wins, to celebrate he will do a face reveal. If galen loses, as a punishment he has to do a face reveal.
Brilliant.
And SecondThread will do a face unreveal to celebrate if he wins. If he loses, as a punshiment, he has to do a face unreveal.
Sounds interesting. Can't wait to see my most favorite CP YouTubers compete. In a dilemma whom to support lol :)
lockout banner is mega OP
.
LGM vs LGM, 2622 vs 2622, Java vs C++, David Harmeyer from University of Central Florida vs Colin Galen from Montgomery Blair High School. This duel will be legendary!
UPD: Congrats to @galen_colin for the victory!
Acha lavde
hmm...i wonder how they will duel, do they hold a contest and see who gets more points or do they do something else? trivia? sorry if i didn't read something...
also, will the loser change their int main to the winner's name like in the first match? that'll be interesting.
I think we can talk steaks before we start, thanks for the reminder! The duel will be lockout style, so 6 problems with point values 100-600 and whoever hits over half first (or whoever has more points when time runs out) wins. The commentators will explain the rules so don’t worry too much about that if you’re not familiar :)
mmm... steaks are delicious!

GG!
Damn, such a close match. David lost by a mere 20s in the 500 problem.
GG! Subscribe to galen_colin!
gg wp ! I already did :))
The match was intense .I feel sorry for Second Thread :(
Perhaps the closest lockout match till now.
Nope. I lost with -is-this-fft- because my submission was 5 seconds after the match ended. I actually thought that I won for a minute or two. I think there were some other cases when it was necessary to see submission id.
(comment edited because I was on phone earlier)
OMG!! Which one is it that I missed?
Nope. Me and LNB had a lockout match in the lockout champonship where he solved a 200 pointer 2 secs before the time ended and won 500-400. The lockout bot didn't even register and declared me the winner, but geothermal later clarified that I'd lost.
Nice. So it's only matter of time before we'll get a match with two submissions in the same second.
It should be noted there were several very close calls in that match:
We both submitted 300 at the same minute. Since the score at that point was 500-400, Errichto would have won immediately.
Stream viewers don't know this, but I submitted 200 3 minutes earlier than Errichto and got a WA due to overflow that I was not able to debug.
And of course, the final moments with the 5 seconds late submission on 100.
Congrats SecondThread!! on hitting 200 contribution.
