As we all know, the Expert rank has a length of 300 instead of the more common 200. On the other hand, the IM rank covers only 100 points. Is there a specific reason behind this? I would be delighted to know if one exists.
In my opinion, it would be more consistent and satisfying if it looked like this:
$$$1600-1799$$$ : Expert
$$$1800-1999$$$ : CM
$$$2000-2199$$$ : M
$$$2200-2399$$$ : IM
Additionally, to further improve the consistency, we could consider introducing a new rank between IGM and LGM. This would make IGM from $$$2600-2799$$$, and the new rank from $$$2800-2999$$$. Here are a few name suggestions for this new rank from me:
- Super Grandmaster
- Epic Grandmaster
- Elite Grandmaster
