Dear Codeforces Community and MikeMirzayanov,
I hope this message finds you in good health and high spirits. Today, I would like to address an important concern that has been affecting our beloved Codeforces platform: the issue of discrimination based on user color rating within the blogs section. It has come to my attention that some users are experiencing unfair downvotes solely due to their rating, even when their blogs provide valuable insights and knowledge. I would like to propose a modification to the contribution calculation system.
Codeforces has always been known for its thriving community, where knowledge sharing and collaboration thrive. The blogs section plays a vital role in encouraging collaboration and knowledge sharing within the Codeforces community, enabling users to connect, exchange ideas, seek guidance, and share solutions. However, the unfortunate reality is that discrimination against users based on their color rating has become increasingly prevalent. Users, regardless of the quality and usefulness of their blogs, face undeserved downvotes simply due to their rating.
Reducing Contribution for Downvotes
- When users genuinely believe that a blog does not provide value and choose to downvote, their contribution rating should be decreased somehow.
- This adjustment aims to reduce the negative impact of discriminatory downvoting, ensuring that the evaluation of content is based on its quality rather than biased judgments.
By implementing these modifications, we can work towards creating a more inclusive and fair Codeforces community. People who write blogs will be encouraged to contribute valuable content without the fear of discrimination, while the contribution calculation system will more accurately reflect the impact of their blogs.
Thank you for your attention and for your commitment to making Codeforces a better platform for the entire community.
