Core Idea

I have set 6 goals that I want to achieve in the next 525 days. The date I am aiming for is the 16th of June, 2027 (exactly 525 days from today). I choose that date because it should be about the day when I graduate from high school, which I believe is a great milestone in my life. All of the goals will be known only by me, and they will be revealed after 525 days. If I fail in accomplishing any set goals, I (and everybody interested) will know it's only my fault, and it will be pretty unpleasant. On the other hand, if I succeed in accomplishing all of them, then I can add some more to fail!

I will be posting weekly blogs and updates on goals, without revealing too much. To make the blogs less plain and boring to read, I will also be adding some cool problems and their solutions or some useful algorithms/techniques that I encountered in that week. I will try to have something interesting, but don't expect too much, as I am quite inexperienced.

Inspiration

The inspiration for this project came from a channel called Project 1356. This is probably the most meaningful thing that came out of doom scrolling for me, and has really inspired me to try and improve myself, using similar ideas. I recommend everybody to check out the video where he explains everything he did.

About me

I am a high school student from Serbia. I enjoy competitive programming and math, as well as basically any other form of competition. I have participated in a few international OIs, but I am yet to (hopefully) go to IOI. As well as learning, I also enjoy teaching and I am trying to prepare a few of my friends and students from my school for some cp competitions, mainly national OI and codeforces. If you have any questions you would like to ask me, feel free to do so.

Why are you doing this?

You may (but probably not) be wondering why am I doing this. Why am I not just doing something easier (and less public)?

I really don't know how I got the courage to do this. I have never been much of a social person and I rarely post anything anywhere, so why would I ever do something like this? A reason is that I really want to achieve all the goals I have in my mind, and I believe Project 525 may be a challenging and interesting way to do so, therefore I am (without much thought) pushing myself to do this.

Week 1

I have been thinking about goals, and I formed 6 straightforward ones. Many of them have their own subgoals. Most of the set goals have been in my head for a long time already, but there are also some new ones (kind of New Year — new me). Some goals are trackable, as they can be partially done, but most of them are either 1 or 0. In future, I will try to describe how close I think I am to achieving every goal.

I believe all of the goals I have set are rather difficult, but I won't make them easier, only harder if necessary. If my interests change, which they probably will, some of the goals might get replaced with ones I believe are more suitable for me and at least as difficult.

Progress check

Except of coming up with this idea, nothing has been done. I know, such a great way to start this. My excuse this time is that it's both New Year and Christmas this week for me and I am on a skiing trip. This trend of not doing much will probably go on for another week or two (even better way to start the Project, I know), but it will all be made up for in the upcoming (525-21) days.

Final remarks

Tutorials of tasks and algorithms will start from the next post, as I didn't really prepare much for this week and I am too tired to come up with something now. I might update this part later on, but don't expect much.

Aside from my own goals, I would be more than happy if anybody gets inspired by this and tries a similar challenge. That would make it a bit easier, as I mostly expect (hopefully friendly) mocking from my cp friends to come out of this, but that's kind of the point, I will feel ashamed if I fail and even one person knows.

I am open to hearing your suggestions on how to improve this Project, as well as suggestions on what tasks and topic to cover in future!
