I have seen some online judges which show the author's name on the statement page. I think that is a nice gesture towards the author of the problem for his contribution(and it feels great when that name is yours ;-;). Why doesn't codeforces do that?

it's unnecessary
It doesn't have to be in big text at the start of the problem, it can be at the bottom or besides the tags and other information. Of course it wouldn't be necessary to the problem, but like thisIsMorningstar said, it would just be a nice gesture to the author.
This should be an option such that each user could choose is he wants to see the author's name.
Or each author could choose if they want their name to be visible to all.
There can be one such option, but I mean that's really not necessary, they can put the name of the author next to/at the bottom of the problem name, that won't make it any more distracting I think.
If I saw the author's name, I could get some hints to the problems because I could know the author and his problems. This would be not comfortable for me.
Elegia too ;-;

What to do if the person who prepared the problem (i.e. prepared sys tests/pretests) is not the one who came up with the idea?
Sometimes, the people who prepare problems with bad pretests get a lotta negative comments. I remember once a contests didn't reveal the name of a problem preparer "for their safety"
In that case then CM_Dan4Life's comment would make a lot of sense
Sometimes it is shown in editorials, and I think that is best.
It would be a nice idea on any other platform but considering how badly a round gets downvoted just because people didn't enjoy the tasks (and during those times the author also remains hidden in editorial), I would be a little worried about what would happen if such people got to know the authors.
they can make a tag for auther's name it will be visible to users and also will not take huge space
Actually codeforces should implement this -
the author's name can be in the tag's section , so that we can also filter problems with author's names
also author should have the option to choose whether he want's to revel his name on a particular problem or not .
let's not make author's name a tag, it's horrible at codechef
They are so bad that authors don't want to reveal their names
I am afraid some authors don't want to be uncovered like this
most of the times it is mentioned in the editorials.
