I've been seeing a lot more contests being on weekdays rather than weekends recently. For example, the next four codeforces contests are all on weekdays. Is there a reason for this? Even if the number of people who can't take contests on weekdays due to school and such is in the minority, I don't see any harm in moving the contests to weekends when more people can take them.

Maybe it is because it will collide with AtCoder contests which is usually held on weekend?

If codeforces host the contests at 7:35 am PDT like usual, then it shouldn't collide with the atcoder contests which are usually at 5:00 am PDT

It's bad idea to move ALL contests to weekends, but maybe majority of them. For example for me is extremely hard to find free time during weekends rather than weekdays. So I can't participate in AtCoder contests at all because of fixed time (sunday 15:00 in my timezone). I don't know if it's common case or not, but I like when contests are held on all days of week (and time, but it's hard for admins) so everybody can participate
