There used to be unofficial video editorials after the contests earlier, but nowadays no one is making them.
As we all know that the people associated with the preparation of the contest are paid for their work, then why not include the official video editorials in the contest preparation as well and pay the ones who do that. There are many great coders who have done that and if it will be paid then many more will come up and this will eventually help the community.
CodeChef is already doing this!!! To make it happen, please make this post reach to the ones who can bring a change or rather at least upvote it to make this reach the concerned people. Official video editorials are better than waiting for someone to make videos(which may or may not happen). MikeMirzayanov
Who is going to pay for this extra work? CodeChef seems to be in the process of pushing premium subscription and limiting the availability of free features, so eventually the costs are expected to be shouldered by the users.
Codeforces will pay as it pays to others who prepare the contest. By the way, money is not a concern, people donate generously to Codeforces. You may check the last total amount that people donated.
no matter how much money cf get it always give more than that.Just think after every contest 100's of cheaters are eliminated which is not an easy task.
Yes having a official video editorial is a good idea but it will cost a lot.Maybe soemthing like having a platform like quora where for answering people will be paid(from the ad revenue)is feasible.
CF already has Edu section, similarly adding a vid editorial section would not be a big deal for it.
Why would you want video editorial? A well written editorial is more than enough. Why would you want someone to read the editorial for you?!
Obviously, video helps Just take example of the EDU section, text and videos both are there for the topics, do you think if it would have only been text then so many people would have gone through it? Every one would be benefitted from it, the creator as well as the participants, then what is the problem?
EDU section explains different and new topics that's why you need video. On the other hand editorial should be about giving hints to the problem, and briefly explaining how to use well known topics to solve the problem.
