What is fast fourier transform ?

Can anyone help me understand it?

I've had nightmares solving problems on this, can anyone tell me resources to study this?

Also is it really this important to learn to get to pupil ?

Please, read following:

FFT is important towards analyzing shock waves underneath Earth. Such is alleged purpose, as scientists all over globe were trying to detect. Are foreign enemies testing bombs?

In fact, we had not a long solution for a while. This is due to our ignorance.

See: great and wise, legendary mathematician Gauss had already invented Fast Fourier Transform. In part to analyze orbital ovement. Had we known of this, could we have stopped World War 2? It seems possible. FFT is akin to the Bombe machine—a mchine which cracked the powerful encryption of the "Enigma" machine, thus rendering victory for the allies—in impact. It has completely changed our world.

But, alas. We were too late. Still its affects remained prominent. We needed a method to verify and confirm: "do our enemies persist still?"

Indeed, therefore, FFT was invented.

Now of course, war has ceased. Our world is at peace. Bomb wave detection is no longer necessary. That is of course, true. But still: wave analysis is useufl. It is an completely essential algorithm for digital sygnal processing. Therefore, it is of use today. Proclaimed to be: most influential algorithm of 20th century, by some.

I think its applications are profound. With it, you can reach pupil.
