Hi everyone,

You can dislike this post if you want but answer my question.

Today I want to ask you all a very serious & genuine question, I have been struggling on various platforms from a very long time, after 6-8 months I take pledge to do good in CP practice hell a lot, was active on codeforces, atcoder and leetcode as well.

But then I see some accounts of IGMs, LGMs (pre chatgpt era) they got that title with 15-20 contests and some even earlier.

I am a working professional thanks to my CP/dsa but still I felt ashamed that I could never ever reach near CM/closer to that.

Please someone guide me am I wasting my time to grind in CP, or it is achievable to become GM,IGM/LGM by only practice , ready to do 5-10 problems a day with full time job but is it worth??

I have 500+ problems solved on cf alt account

more than 1100 on lc and 100-200 on other platforms

Given cp 3 years, followed usaco guide cses problem set and what not.

I have made this account to give fresh start to my cp because I was fed up of loosing. After not able to solve div 3 'C' problem in last contest was a shame on me, 14k people solved it, it was really depressing to see.

Just wanting to know is cp 'god-gifted'

I'm not a master either, of course, but I think it's quite possible if you complete the tasks from the rounds, for example.

It's just a matter of practice. What I feel is, If you have solved a lot of problems with good difficulty, then you would learn new ideas and techniques from each of them.

All these ideas and techniques learnt while solving problems, adds on to your knowledge and you begin to apply them during contest and see improvement.

I think just upsolving and practicing more problems +200 from your rating should work out well (at least till Master). I am clueless how to improve beyond master.

Of course practice helps a lot, but practice isn't the sole component. After $$$1000$$$ problems, one person might still be newbie while someone else could be red. Practice strategy / background knowledge can't account for such differences.

don't be hopeless bro. no one have god gifted cp but many people have their self productive power. when peoples get happy by getting first rank in primary middle school , some people struggle with olympiad level competition which make their brain sharp and they become legendry master in their field(interest). how much you push your brain, that much you will have advantage in future. so keep it on with a happy mind. after sometime you will definitely dominated on other.
