Change Handle Feature
Hurry! Until January 10, you can change your handle (but only once)! Note that next time you will be able to roll back the change or request another handle change only after a year (in December 2026). Choose wisely!
You can change your handle to a new one that hasn't been used by anyone else, or to one that you've previously used. Links to your old profile will automatically redirect to your updated profile.
Again this year, if you've participated in at least 10 rounds, you can request the handle of an inactive participant. This means the participant must have had a period of activity on Codeforces lasting at most 180 days, and this activity must have occurred in 2022 or earlier. The inactive participant must not have posted comments, messages, or similar content, and they must not have participated receiving 'Accepted' in more than 2 contests. In such cases, the handle will be automatically renamed, and the original owner will be notified via email. If the original user requests their handle back, we will roll back the change and restore your previous handle.
If you're unable to change your handle, it means some of the requirements have not been met. Please do not ask me to intervene manually. I especially dislike requests such as, "This is my second account; I took an interesting handle myself." I'm not Santa Claus!
Speaking of handles, I always reminisce about one particular story. Once, a user sent me this message: "Please change my handle from I_love_Valya to I_love_Sveta, as I no longer love Valya..."

What counts as activity? I tried to get a handle (https://mirror.codeforces.com/profile/mariza) with zero submissions, no comments or blogs etc but it says it's in use. The only problem I can think of is that the last visit is 3 years after the registration date. Does that count as more than 180 days of activity?
I would like to change my handle to Yukino (https://mirror.codeforces.com/profile/Yukino) but failed to do so for some reason. This person has only made two submission in 2014 on the same day (non-contest, one accepted, other CE) and has never participated in any blog or comments. I believe this satisfies the criteria. Their last visit was 11 years ago.

Hi MikeMirzayanov! Thanks for implementing this feature. I'm have a third-party application that uses the Codeforces API and OAuth to track user profiles. I noticed that querying user.info with an old handle returns the new handle, which is very helpful for syncing handle changes automatically.
Quick question: Is this redirect behavior permanent, or is there a time limit after which the old handle stops redirecting to the new one? For example, if someone changes their handle from oldHandle to newHandle, will querying user.info?handles=oldHandle always return newHandle, or will this mapping expire after some time (e.g., 30 days, 1 year)?
This would help me design a more robust sync mechanism. Thanks!

magic will include ranks such as headquarters, unrated, tourist/jiangly when?
I doubt any of those except possibly unrated would be added, simply because headquarters would introduce far more scams for impersonators, and tourist/jiangly ranks (4,000+) are based on your own handle, which would require Codeforces to put your own handle as your rank which could be done with API calls but likely won´t due to the sheer rarity of the title or resource limitations from thousands or more users calling the API to change their title.

I would like to respectfully appeal the plagiarism accusation regarding my submission [355395767] for problem 2178F. I want to clearly state that I did not copy code from any other participant, nor did I intentionally share my solution with anyone. My solution was written independently during the contest. The problem is quite standard in terms of approach and implementation, and it is very likely that many participants arrived at a similar idea and structure. I did not use any public code-sharing platforms, public IDEs, or external sources during the contest. If the similarity is high, I believe it is an unintentional coincidence caused by a common and straightforward solution pattern for this problem. I fully respect Codeforces rules and fair play, and I would never knowingly violate them. I kindly ask you to review my case once again.
