When the contest starts, there is only 1 problem, when someone solves it, another problem comes up. The person who solves first gets the points.
The $$$i^{th}$$$ problem contains the following number of points.
If $$$i=1$$$, then 2 points.
If $$$i=2$$$, then 3 points.
Else $$$2 \cdot (i-1)$$$
it should be $$$2 \cdot (i - 1)$$$ not $$$2 \cdot (n - 1)$$$
