Project Electicode

For a while now, we've wanted to start a platform aimed to be the Codeforces or the go-to platform for preparing for Olympiads. 3 years I quit my job to start Electicode, an idea of a community and a platform to accommodate everyone looking for a high quality OI everywhere. Today we have https://electicode.com.

The goal is to have an online platform hosting high quality OI contests weekly or bi-weekly. For that reason, we started a company and have an offline tutoring business to fund the project, and to make a living.

Electicode is a work-in-progress, everyday new problems, resources, contests and features are being added but we think we'd like to share what we have with you now, and start hosting some public contests.

What makes Electicode different?

1) Regular OI style contests; we hold public OI style contests as often as we can, some are educational , some are original problems, with the goal of having a platform that gets you used to how to handle the contest environment REGULARLY.

2) We're working on an exhaustive archive of every OI problem, nationally and internationally. Our team is currently in the process of building that archive, and you can contribute! We're looking for all sorts of problems from various stages of the OI pipeline, if you have a PDF of some problem from some contest (e.g., the qualification round of the VOI in some state). We'll add it to the platform so it's available for people to practice.

3) We're constantly working on adding high-quality problems to resources and courses so students can have a somewhat standardized path to their prep. This is constantly evolving but we believe is already in good shape.

4) We'll be trying our best to tackle AI cheating in our contests so that the rating is somewhat representative of actual skill. This will be a hard fight and we're not sure if we'll win, but we'll try.

If you'd like to help us build the problems archive or have any suggestions or want to discuss things about the project or Electicode in general you can join our discord and we promise to be as responsive as possible.

Farhod I am really excited about "electicode". But I can't register because my country "Bangladesh" is not available to select.

You shouldn't have to give up your full name and phone number just to create an account to view a contest. I think using usernames would be much better.

That's right, everyone will be prompted to set their handle / country now and that'll be enough. Name can be set later in the profile. Thanks for the feedback!

Nice initiative! This is exactly what I needed when I was in OI.

I just wish the times of the contests were more west friendly, like codeforces or atcoder (for some countries). Right now the time of 8 a.m. UTC is 5 a.m. for me, so I won't be competing very much :(

Agree, I'd love to participate, but 4 a.m contests are almost impossible for me (especially considering how poorly I perform when I don't have any sleep)

Fair, that's something we'll definitely fix. We were in sort of a closed-beta in Central Asia that's why the times might be a bit off. We'll try to hold them in regular times and avoid clashes as much as possible.
