I already graduated from college, so I'm not eligible to participate in national Olympiad pipelines or the ICPC. I'm not sure what the share of people on platforms like Codeforces or AtCoder that are in my position is, but with the rise of AI, people in my situation are now completely blocked from fair competitive programming competitions. Maybe most contestants are kids, college students, and legendary grandmasters who can be flown out to the AtCoder World Finals, so it doesn't matter. But, maybe not. I hope not. I hope there are enough people in my predicament that will push for open, in-person events so we can showcase our abilities and so there's still purpose in improving at competitive programming beyond personal enrichment for us. Right now, I don't feel a strong enough motivation to keep going in this pursuit. Maybe one day, platforms like AtCoder and Codeforces, universities, and corporations will come together and form open, in-person events that I can compete in so that motivation will come back.
