There is a list of the youngest chess grandmasters. What about codeforces? Let's make a list of the youngest codeforces grandmasters! =)

How about 16?(jqdai0815, PrinceOfPersia, M.Mahdi, LiTi and aliasadiiii before the last round) :D

    bmerry should be around 35, as he participated in IOI'96.

    Edit: Oh, but he also participated in 2001, so he is more like 32 or so :)

      It literally takes 2 minutes to google his name, find out that he is an IOI medalist and calculate his probable age based on the years he took part in IOI.

      I am going to stay there for a longer timespan next time :)

      And about RetiredAmrMahmoud question (which is completely irrelevant to your answer) — I think that person with a good experience in math contests will reach red fast:) Learning how to write a code sounds easier than learning how to solve problems.

    I started participating in programming contests in February, 2011 and became GM on my twentieth birthday, 19.11.2013. That's about two years and nine months.

    But this result may be unfair, because I first tried to write some code in 2005, that was JASS, a programming language for writing scripts for Warcraft 3.

    He become GM when he was 14. (round when he become GM was 2013-12-29, he was born 1999)

This compares with an ELO chess? I think so you can compare. Then tourist = 3407, Carlsen = 2876, the programming is going ahead.

So we already concluded from this subject that becoming red in primary school is no problem. What about youngest international grandmaster?

I do not know exact their exact birth dates (nor even approximate in most cases), but I guess few good examples of young IGMs are here: tourist (surprisingly :P), yeputons, jqdai0815, YuukaKazami, scott_wu, PavelKunyavskiy, jcvb, Alex_2oo8. Can someone tell how old were they when they became IGMs?

it is not about age, it is about circumstances, I was trying to understand programming at high and prep school but my dad was punishing me by destructing my PC I was so sad, right now I am trying to get back to my passion, but I am upset, I have no good community at university to direct me to the right way in competitive programming, I will do it, Good Luck for all GMs
